When you join our Discord server [and get through the short verification process], the first thing that'll stand out to you is the number of threads we have.

To ensure the safety of our existing members, we clearly state our rules at the top of our server. Our moderators and founders take time outside of work hours to review tickets and accept new members.

The first section is called our Important channel, which includes a few public rooms (meaning anyone can view these), and interactive chats where members choose their trades to set a role so that we can mention members by trade and or location! Making it that much easier to connect and learn
Our next channel is the Chat tab. We encourage our members to connect with other members! Work-related is one of our more active chats where members share their day-to-day experiences

A lot of our members have been in the workforce for a few years, and many of our other members are also just now emerging into the workforce. We want to support them as best we can, hence the Resources channel. We utilize the networks of our members and founders, like Nush and Brooke, to get our members new opportunities. We also share our Sisterhood Special newsletter, our Sisterhood Takes the Mic podcast, and our Sisterhood Spotlight shoutout posts.

You'll also notice our Scholarships chatroom right under, that's where we share resources and scholarships, like Techforce foundation, to help get our Sisters visibility.

Our newest additions: Job postings and Ask for Advice. We invite job recruiters and women who are curious about the trades to connect with our members
We highly encourage our members to learn about new trades and meet new women.

At SOT, we pride ourselves on having a diverse group of women, and that means celebrating their hobbies and personal lives just as much as it means highlighting their careers. We also understand that there are different struggles for women who are at different points in their lives, which is why we created the Community tab.
We have a designated chatroom for mommas in the trades tradesmothers (new term alert..?) to get advice from other working moms. A lot of our members are into cars, or have tattoos so we included rooms like that - where the Sisters can get more personal.

You'll also notice a space for mental and physical health, a battle that a lot of us face behind the scenes. You are not alone - this whole community serves to show. tradeswomen that they are not alone - you have sisters that you can lean on.

We want to continue the connection by collaborating across social media platforms with other women. The more of us are visible, the better things get for all of us.

Text your Sister
In our Support tab, we have chatrooms where members can ask questions about how to fix or install something. You know that company, "Call Dad"? - Well, how about "Text your Sister", our members ask questions to certain tradespeople, or share their do-it-yourself projects to get guidance from industry professionals
"The Sisterhood is a community of women who are in the trades to help future women know that even though you may not see other women in the trades, we are here! You aren't alone."

"To me, the Sisterhood is full of women who have my back, we understand what each other faces, even if the industry is different. There is no sense of competetion or drama, we may be strangers physcially, but we are all friends here."

"The Sisterhood is all support! A lot of us are the only women on site, so to have a group of ladies who can relate is amazing! This is also a space that we can share accomplishments and that feels awesome!"
